Our Latest Feature in Our Homes Magazine

This year, we were honoured to have our Timber Lane project featured in the Fall/Holiday issue of Our Homes Magazine. In case you weren’t able to get your hands on a copy, we’re sharing all of the photos, along with some of our favourite design elements.

One of our favourite ways to personalize a space is to create custom artwork that has sentimental value for our clients. These prints of Bermudian architecture inspire memories of this family’s previous home and were custom colour-graded to complement the interior of the space. The four prints hang in the stairwell adjacent to the entry so they’re visible throughout the great room and kitchen.

In the dining room, we always try to incorporate two things: fresh greenery for vibrancy, and candles for ambience. Here, an almost-ripe guelder rose branch is splayed across the iron trough, mixed with large black and white pillar candles. Low-profile centrepieces work best for fostering conversation when entertaining.

Make your guests feel welcome by creating a simple vignette of small bites - we chose scones, grapes, a loaf of fresh bread and wine.

Maximal storage ensures that this kitchen has a place for everything.

The primary bedroom is located off of the great room with idyllic views of the black and brass spiral chandelier. We kept it simple with monochromatic bed linens and a textured, elongated lumbar pillow. Details like the wooden buttons on the duvet cover that resemble the bedside table are simple, small touches that create a tailored look.

Here’s another example of artwork that was custom made for our client who adores contemporary, abstract art. I loved creating this piece, which was made by mixing plaster, burlap and acrylic paint for a richly textured look.

Symmetry and clean lines inspire calm, peace and tranquility in the primary ensuite.

The lower level includes a variety of spaces for hobbies and interests, while also being perfect for entertaining.

The best part of the project was working with my wonderful clients, who made designing their dream home an experience I will always treasure.
